Purpose of our Ministry to Men

Our purpose is to reach out to men who need Christ, and encourage men in their walk with Christ so that they can be spiritual leaders in the home, church, and marketplace.

We carry out our purpose by creating opportunities for men to reach out to unbelieving men in our community and in the marketplace with the Gospel of Jesus Christ; (Matthew 4:19)
By encouraging men by fellowship with other men so that they are able to consistently live out their faith; (I Thessalonians 3:2-3)
By arming men with the tools they need to grow in maturity in their relationship to God, their families, and their peers; (Ephesians 4:12-13)
By discipling men in accountable relationships to other men for their growth in prayer and in the faith. (Proverbs 27:17)

SUMMER GOLF LEAGUE

Our summer golf league begins in May and goes through early July. You can call the church office for details on sign up and substitute play.

SOFTBALL LEAGUE PLAY

Our church participates in an area softball league. To play on our team, you must attend one service weekly at MBC. The softball league begins in May and goes through early July. If you are interested you may contact any member of our men's ministry team through the church office. Our contact person is Bill Ewing.

SUMMER GOLF OUTING

Our men's ministry team sponsors a golf outreach each year at a local golf course. This includes a golf scramble, lunch or supper buffet and special speaker. Contact Everett Mathews for details.

MONDAY NIGHT BASKETBALL

Monday night basketball begins in September. This is an opportunity for you to bring some guys from work and build some relationships with Christian guys, so that they may come to know the love of Christ. See Mitch Adams for times and details.

FALL RETREAT

Our men's retreat is held in the latter part of September at Scioto Hills Camp and Retreat Center in Southern Ohio. Contact Dave McCloy for details.

MAN 2 MAN is a men's connecting group that meets on the first Saturday of every month from 8 - 9:30 am for a Bible study breakfast in area homes and restaurants. This is a group that is open to men outside our church family as well as our own guys. The topics studied and discussed bring us back to God's answers from the Bible. There is lively interaction, laughter, serious discussion, and life-changing perspectives adopted. See below for a list of this year's topics and locations. Vaughn Roberts, Pastor of St. Ebbe’s Church in Oxford, England made the following observation: "A conformist instinct lies deep within most of us. No wonder we find the Christian life so hard, for Christ calls us to be distinct from those around us."

Men live in a world that produces constant stress points... stress points that can move us away from the very pursuit that God created for us. In our Man-2-Man series this year we are going to define the kind of manhood that will make a difference for God. Because that manhood and that difference is revealed in the Bible, we want to be informed and be changed as men into the very purpose for which God created us. Join us for some great learning and manly interaction.

Purpose: "To encourage men in their walk with Christ so that they can be spiritual leaders in the home, church, and marketplace & an effective witness for Christ in their circle of influence."

Our men's ministries foster Discipleship groups for men called "Growth Coaching." These groups meet on Saturday mornings and Thursday evenings depending on which group you are part of. These groups focus on developing biblical leadership qualities and strategies that enable men to spiritually lead their homes and their own lives. Paul made it clear to Timothy in I Tim. 3:5 that a man must first learn to lead his own home before he leads in the church.
